Please note that additional processing fees may apply to General FOI requests, depending on the size and complexity of the request description. Section 75 of the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act outlines the processing fees that can be charged for non-personal FOI requests for the following tasks or services:
- locating, retrieving and producing the record;
- preparing the record for disclosure;
- shipping and handling the record;

There are no processing fees charged for:

- time spent severing (removing) information from a record.
If you are requesting records containing information about yourself, you will be asked to produce government-issued photo identification, such as a driver’s license or passport. This can be done either when you submit your request or when you pick up the response. You may also mail a copy of your identification as an attachment to your request. You may fax a copy as well.
Please note: Records will not be sent until a copy of your identification has been received.
Restrictions to Requests and Records
In the event that your request contains personal information about someone else and compromises said person’s privacy, the Transit Police is not required to complete the request and can delete that information from the record.
If the record that you request contains sensitive information that would be harmful to a law enforcement matter if released, we are not required to provide that part of the requested record.
