Community Outreach

Transit Police is committed to making everyone feel safe on and around transit. Officers from the Community Engagement Team attend community events and give safety talks to help empower individuals in playing an active role in their own safety. 

Officers attend a variety of events every year, including large cultural events like the region's annual Vaisakhi celebrations, niche community gatherings, and everything in between. They give safety talks to audiences of all ages, from daycare children to seniors. By sharing safety tips that help keep the traveling public and their belongings safer, and teaching them how to get help quickly when they needed, our officers increase confidence and feelings of safety.
