Transit Police’s Alanna Wong recognized for her outstanding support to veterans

As we approach Remembrance Day, her crocheted poppies are available for $5 at Transit Police reception

For Transit Police Crime Analyst Assistant Alanna Wong, raising funds for veterans has a very personal significance.

Alanna sells crocheted poppies and donates the proceeds to the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Program as a tribute to the men in her family who served in the military.

On September 17, 2024, Alanna was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition of her outstanding and long-term support of the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Program and related veterans issues.

She has even become an honorary member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #133 in Port Coquitlam for her continued efforts and raising over $10,000 since 2017.

Once again, hundreds of those poppies are available for purchase. The poppies are 1/5” in diameter and come with a safety pin to make them easy to wear as we approach Remembrance Day on November 11.

You can get the crocheted poppies for $5 at Transit Police reception on the third floor during officer hours.

Cash only, please. While supplies last.
