Update on Cst. Joshua Harms

New Westminster – Shortly after 4pm on Wednesday, January 30, 2019, 27-year-old Metro Vancouver Transit Police Constable Josh Harms was shot at Scott Road SkyTrain Station while on duty. He was taken to Royal Columbian Hospital with serious, but not life threatening, injuries. Cst. Harms was released from hospital late yesterday evening and will be meeting with specialists to determine the extent of his injuries and treatment options.

Cst. Harms has been a Metro Vancouver Transit Police patrol officer for 3 years. He is a well respected, exemplary young police officer.

Metro Vancouver Transit Police would like to extend our deepest appreciation to our jurisdictional policing partners, transit staff and the Surrey RCMP, who is leading the active investigation. We are humbled by the outpouring of support we have received from the public and our Law Enforcement/First Responder partners.
