Transit Police Take Extra Precautions

New Westminster – In light of recent tragic events in Brussels, Belgium, Metro Vancouver Transit Police is taking extra security precautions to maintain the safety of our transit system. Transit users may notice an increased presence of officers in high visibility uniforms.

Although there is no specific threat to the TransLink system or infrastructure at this time, our officers remain vigilant and encourage the public to report any suspicious activity to police by:

Texting Transit Police at 87 77 77

Calling Transit Police at 604-515-8300

Calling 9-1-1 in an emergency or

Calling the RCMP National Security Information Network at 1-800-420-5805 FREE.

Transit Police maintains strong relationships with the region’s jurisdictional police departments and our security partners to ensure safety and security for all who use the transit system in Metro Vancouver.
