Surrey Man Pleads Guilty to 12 Charges Relating to SkyTrain Station B & E’s

New Westminster – A 49 year old Surrey man has pled guilty to numerous charges relating to break-ins to two New Westminster SkyTrain Stations and ATM’s in those stations.

Shortly after 5 am, March 3, 2015, members of the New Westminster Police Department arrested Harvey Peter Hogan on the elevated SkyTrain tracks between Lougheed and Braid SkyTrains Stations. Hogan was attempting to evade police after breaking into the Braid Station.

Metro Vancouver Transit Police officers recognized Hogan as the same man seen on video breaking into the 22nd Street Station and the ATM in that station, at approximately 3:30 am, two days earlier on March 1, 2015.

Items located during the subsequent investigation included a suspect vehicle, break-in instruments and a large sum of cash.

Hogan pled guilty to a total of twelve charges relating to these incidents on Tuesday, November 3, 2015.

New Westminster Police Department charges:

  • Mischief under $5000 x 2
  • Break and Enter
  • Breaking Out after Entering to Commit an Offence
  • Possession of Break-In Instruments
  • Possession of Break-In Instruments for Coin Operated Devices

Transit Police charges:

  • Mischief under $5000
  • Break and Enter
  • Theft over $5000
  • Possession of Break-In Instruments for Coin Operated Devices

Hogan is very well known to police and has been remanded in custody until November 12, 2015, at which time he will be sentenced.
