Prolific Property Crime Offender Arrested on Canada Wide Warrant

New Westminster – A prolific property crime offender has been arrested on a Canada Wide Warrant by Metro Vancouver Transit Police.

On March 18, 2018, at approximately 6:00 pm, Metro Vancouver Transit Police Officers on patrol at Scott Road Station conducted a field check of a man and determined that he was wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for Revocation of Parole. He was taken into custody without incident.

Arrested was Dean Garett HARRIS, 45 years, resident of Surrey and very well known to police. HARRIS has a lengthy and continuous criminal history that spans approximately 30 years. He has approximately 78 convictions with the majority of offences being property related and in the Metro Vancouver area.

HARRIS was released from prison in January of this year after serving two years for Break and Enter. He has been returned to the Matsqui Institution.
